How to DIY Lilac Highlights for Hair Extensions

October 13, 2014 0 Comments

Hello everyone, I thought I would share with you all my latest hair adventure. I used to dye my hair a lot, it was great fun and was a fantastic way of changing up my look. However, I decided to give my hair a break from all that bleaching and have managed quite a long time without overall bleaching my hair. On the other hand lately, I have been really missing my hair dyeing ways so in desperation to settle my hair dyeing urges I gave some hair extensions a new look.

First, I rinsed my hair extensions with lukewarm water. I then used the white toner to get rid of any brassy tones in the blonde highlights.
After completing the previous step, I re-rinsed the extensions with a light shampoo, then I mixed a small drop of violet hair dye with a cheap conditioner to create a lilac hair dye. I then applied this to both sides of the extensions to avoid patchy hair colour.
This was a good in between of keeping my hair in its healthy state and not touch my hair with any dye yet have some pretty colours to feel all magical. However, I am still wishfully thinking about taking the plunge and going silver.
If you have any questions about the dying process feel free to just ask.
