Bronde Balayage

I went to Rainbow Room International (George Square) and got my hair done! I’m rocking a bronde balayage, and I love it!!

IMG_0128IMG_0129 IMG_0130It’s been a long while since I have got my hair cut and dyed at a salon. After experiences such as a bad haircut, and asking for terms such as dip dye or ombre at hairdressers met with a lack of understanding, have given me a mistrust of professionals with my much-loved hair. I’ve gone back to hairdressers, of course, as there is only so much you can do to your hair at home. But I’ve gotten by with minimal hairdresser visits and getting a trainee to practice techniques (such as highlights) on my hair. After all, there is nothing worse than an expensive haircut that goes horribly wrong. It was no surprise once I decided to get a new hairdo at a salon I would spend time researching local talent first.

In my mind, I knew that I wanted to go on a trip into Glasgow, as I have found that city salons are more up to date with popular hair trends in comparison to those in the suburbs. This is not to say that I haven’t experienced a great hairdo from going to a suburban hairdresser, but if I asked for a balayage I would not be happy if I were given purely individual foils or a highlight cap. I have heard some great reviews about Rainbow Room International, notably Ayden  recommending Paddy.

I was delighted when I showed Paddy inspirational pictures of ‘bronde’ & caramel balayage, and he instantly understood what I was looking for and ran with it.
On arrival,my hair felt limp and dull. My roots were growing through at a fast pace and my previous highlights throughout were a lot lighter at the ends creating a high contrast. Paddy used Fibreplex (Schwarzkopf Professional’s alternative to Olaplex) to protect my hair during the lightening process and used multiple toners after rinsing the bleach to create a multi-tonal shade to my hair. He explained the whole process whilst I was getting my hair done, and I felt at ease knowing I was in good hands. He recommended some products for me to invest in to ensure the colour lasts longer.  I was also given a deep conditioning treatment, and I left the salon with my hair feeling softer and much healthier. This seems insane considering it was lightened.

I love the tousled waves that were styled to finish off my new look. The texture shows off all the new tones in my hair! It is brighter and more full of life. I have to say it is a hair upgrade. Plus I’m feeling happy and more confident again.

Thank you, Paddy.

    • This year we submit our dissertations electronically. I handed in my first submission of my dissertation on Friday, I then proceeded to resubmit over the weekend because I’m a perfectionist. Today it is officially complete, no more changes! The beast is done and I patiently await the fate of my degree.
    • I swear this will be me by the time I hand in my dissertation in March, I must be a crazy person because I want to do further study as well...
